Need some new dipped lights for my Astra 2008 the ones that are on it aren't great headlights are grand. Are the osram nightbreakers the best to get. I mainly drive early in the morning so it's always dark. Is there any other brands I should consider. Thanks for your help.

I use night breaker plus bulbs. There is a difference, worthwhile but then any improvement is. But they blow more often. Have you projector headlights? I'm assuming no?

What do you mean by projector is that the ball shape over the bulb the Astra doesn't have that it's just the bulb. Thanks for the help

Very true. I have two spares in the car since last week. Power bulbs are the cheapest for them and you get free sidelights too.

Yep, if you had I'd suggest trying a decent hid kit. I miss xenons from the last motor - I'm sorry I didn't wait to find a replacement with them as I start early and finish late in work meaning a lot of dusk/dark driving.

I have used the osram night breakers and they last bugger all. I have also used the Philips Xtreme vision and they do last longer and I found gave a better light.

Just remember all these upgrade bulbs do not last as long as standard. What not try the Philips 30% more light. I have these in my car currently, didn't have the extra cash when the night breakers went, to be honest these are giving more light. I would be driving early and getting home late so I find these very good.

Also, try giving the lights a quick wipe with a damp cloth before you head off, could be just dirt.

Might look into the Philips then. Thanks.

I swapped out all my bulbs for Philips X-tremeVisions last January. All are still going strong, and I drive with my lights on the whole time.

Micksgarage should do them as well. They are more expensive than osram.

Just looked and micks garage is doing 10 percent of Philips extreme and a free torch so I'll go with them i think. 34 euro for 2 expensive but there worth spending money on I know the astra takes H1 and H7 but can't figure out which is the dipped ones is there anyway of telling hope it's not a stupid question but it's my first car so not used to buying bulbs.thanks for the help.

Torch would be handy if the bulb blows ;)

Buy spares. Everyone should have one anyway but bite the bullet if you're doing it. They usually go in pairs and coming into winter you really need to be covered!

H1 is dipped beam, H7 is full lights.

I've used Phillips xtreme +100% and they last a full service cycle, 12-18 months for me, recently put ring automotive +100% bulbs, and I find them a slightly whiter light than the Phillips ones. Never used Osram, haven't heard good things about them though. Only ever used their side lamp bulbs.

Thinking of going for some 100w bulbs, anyone try them or know if they are legal?

    Not legal, rally use only.
