Does anyone know if FETAC External Authenticator should sign all the canidates marking sheets OR just those selected for authentication?

The son has completed a FETAC level 6 course a while ago but is concerned that his Marking Sheets only have the Internal Assesors signature

    Any ideas?

    Hello gozunda,

I would like to answer your question if I can. The external authentication varies in every institute and college. In most places including ours they would have a script or marking sheet selection policy if they have a lot of scripts or student marking sheets to authenticate. They cant check every script so the selection policy may in most cases randomly select some from each module for example: a few from low marks, a few from middle marks and a few from top marks. The authenticator on the day can agree to the random selection or refuse them and pick from any they choose. So in your sons case it may have not been selected for review if the institute, college or vec has a policy as above. If there is no signature from an external authenticator on your sons script it does not in any way undermine the quality or award they may receive from FETAC. You should though see the tutors marks and comments and internal evaluators signature.

I hope this answers your query and if not satisfied you can always have your sons result appealed if still within the appeal time frame and if not happy with the result.

    Kind Regards, Michelle.
