Celebrity slim worry

Hi all. After having two babies in the space of two years I saw an ad for celebrity slim and ordered the starter pack. I started their diet last Tuesday so I'm four days in. I've been following it exactly as they say to but today I had a very dizzy spell and blurred vision that lasted 20 minutes and was frightening as I was looking after the children. It passed after about 20 minutes and I got onto a celebrity slim rep and she said it's normal to feel this way. I've just over a stone baby weight to lose as had last baby 7 weeks ago. It shook me today as I really thought I was going to faint

My concern is if I should continue this diet has anybody advice? I'm not looking for medical advice just practical advice based on your knowledge of diets and nutrition in general. Thanks

There are so many things wrong here :(

lukesmom trying to lose babyweight can be exceptionally difficult, and it most likely feels like very stubborn weight that won't go away but I would implore you to stop using the Celebrity Slim system to try to lose it.

The system is no more than a super-low calorie meal replacement system that will encourage water loss and not healthy, sustainable weight loss. A moderately low calorie plan with wholefoods that meets your daily food needs without causing such nasty side effects would be much more preferable (and safer).

The chances are with the CS system the only 'weight' you'll lose is water and you'll put it back on. Is this the first time you've tried dieting? Have you tried modifying or even overhauling your regular eating habits into something that's more manageable for your day to day life?

While dieting, the occasional spell of hunger or tiredness may be "normal" as you learn to control your food intake. Dizziness and blurred vision is most certainly not a "normal" side effect of any healthy weight loss plan.

Does celebrity slim involve taking any supplements/fat burners, like lipotrim? If so, I'd consult a doctor.

Yes my first time ever dieting, no I haven't tried any other method but perhaps it would be a lot safer. I think I got caught by the gimmick and advertising maybe :(

    WOW diet is shocking :eek::eek:
No wonder you are feeling the way you are..
First of all anything that involves a diet milkshake is a fail !!

I can't stress enough how dangerous these diets are, and as stated in one of the above posts you will only lose water weight and probably gain back twice as much weight.

I know losing weight can be frustrating especially when you are in a time frame to lose it, but from my own experience I've done diets, diet clubs, quick fix diets the only way the weight will come off and stay off is to have a healthy balanced diet and exercise.

and i'm sure most people on here will tell you the same.

Have a look at this thread Nutrition 101

Thank you will quit it immediately and just eat healthier. I couldn't risk that blurred vision again it really was a scary 20 minutes.

I would like to see some repercussions for the Rep who said this is Normal!
FFFFFing ridiculous.... OP i am sorry you felt the way you did today but honestly 7 weeks after having a baby is a bit early to be dieting, dont mind the likes of Posh spice she's NO role model.... you need to look after yourself so you are fit and healthy for your babies, its only a stone, follow the stickies as other posters recommended!

Hi yes you are right I really don't know why I started it to be honest as part of me was thinking how bad it sounded. I guess I got lured in by the success stories but its definitely not for me. The rep said if it went on any longer than a couple of weeks then visit my gp but I honestly couldn't take another episode like this morning. I was freaked out by it because my vision just went so blurry and was so lightheaded I actually prayed for it to stop!

Hey lukesmom congrats on your second baby. Your only 7 weeks out and your body is going through lots of natural changes and you need all the energy you can get to keep up. A good balanced diet is essential to support these changes and will over time bring you back closer to your natural weight.

    Cheers

No diet should ever do that, that's quite worrying. Maybe get checked out at the GP next time just to be sure?

You are recovering from the equivalent of major surgery, now is not the time to be dieting. In three months maybe, but not now. Give yourself a break and a little recuperation time.
