Sure, no problem. You're a dealer. Happy?

Yes. You are buying with intent to make a profit therefore you're a dealer.

More than six car a year?

If the answer is yes, then you're a dealer.

I remember someone mentioning before that there was a certain number of cars you were allowed to sell each year, before you were legally considered and had to declare to revenue, that you were a car dealer. I seem to remember it being a pretty low number to, like 3 or 5.
this is the answer i was looking for as i would onlybe selling 3 or 4 a year

You can be trading (for tax purposes) without making a single sale.

    I'd call you many things!

"Dealer" might be one if them.

If Chuck Norris calls you a dealer, you're a dealer!

I'd be very doubtful it's only 3-4 cars a year somehow..;)

If you bought them with the intention to sell them on for profit then I would call you a dealer.

I sold 4 cars one year but only sold them because I needed a different type of car and therefore was not a dealer as profit was not a motive.

Whether you are classed as a dealer or not is fairly irrelevant unless you breach the limits for VAT registration but if you are trading for gain you are liable for tax under self assessment
