    Strong Language

Yet again, Eirigi and other assorted far left-wing groups have imposed their unrepresentative will and prevented the Tanaiste and Minister for Children attending a conference launching a UNICEF campaign for the Children's referendum.

There are genuine grievances to be had with the government, and groups like this do sane and coherent detractors a disservice with their brash, aggressive and illegal protesting.

They're was absolutely no need for them to protest at this event, which has almost unanimous support from all sections of society. It was especially distasteful given that there were children present.

The language, actions and demeanour of this raggle-taggle group of eejits tells you everything you need to know about far left-wing socialist groups like eirigi.

I'd be very reticent to impinge on people's right to protest, but perhaps the gardai should intervene more forcefully in cases like this when the law is being broken.

That was actually quite funny. Did you see the Eirigi protester with the yellow jacket with "Liverpool FC" on the back?

    He obviously doesn't do irony.

Looked to me like a small groups of people shouting 'out out out' at a car interspersed with a few swear words. Heard about it on the radio and assumed it was a serious incident, obviously a slow news day

    http://www.breakingnews.ie/ireland/man-arrested-after-tanaistes-car-egged-569489.html
A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage of Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore's ministerial car, a Garda spokesman said this afternoon.

“The decision was taken not to return on safety grounds, mindful that there were children in the building,” his spokeswoman added.

Jesus wept, you'd swear it was Dealey Plaza!

It will be reported as mad cap republicans as per usual. Even the thread title and the headline on every website tells us who was protesting. They'll even go as far as to say it was for a childrens charity etc etc.

This is all designed so we can distance oursleves from these people and make the next logical step- Which is of course only lowlives protest...

For what its worth I can't stand Eirigi but until people in Ireland start protesting in a meaningful way it will be left to the crazies sadly. These politicains deserve every egg they get imo. I'd rather they got eggs than unvouched expenses.:D

Politicians prevented from attending a UNICEF conference. That showed 'em!

A case for an improved education system if ever the School of Sh*te Parenting was to exemplify.

For what it is worth most people will be put off protesting because they don't want to be associated with these wasters who seem to protest at everything. Also you choose your battles, preventing ministers from attending an event with an international charity is pathetic and really shows how clueless these morons are.

If it was a different event you would still moan just as much - so spare us the crocodile tears about the poor wee children - that's the children who will be impoverished if child welfare is cut.

Yeah cause that is what it was really about.

Pull the other one, it's got bells on.

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

How many 'poor childer' were made orphans by the IRA?

How many 'poor childer' suffered because they lived in a country where Walter Mittys in ill-fitting camouflage clothing thought they were heroes by blowing up shops and scaring away investment (including killing and kidnapping executives of investors, North and South) and for many years destroyed the economic prospects of the whole island?

We only started to become a normal European country when we turned our backs decisively on the likes of you.
