What people do not realise is that these people that leave the likes of Nigeria pay "agents" tens of thousands of dollars to get them into Europe. The "agent" tell them never to say anything about said "agent" on threat of terrible things. What the asylum seekers dont understand is that the whole test is based on credibility. The authorities have no interest in who got you here. They ask questions as to how you got here to see if your answers are credible. They find that people lie about their routes all the time. Catch them out for lying on one thing and their credibility can be questioned on every other piece of information they give = refused asylum.

I know of one woman who fled Ethiopa through an agent who packed her into a lorry in Italy and she somehow got to Ireland. I was acting for her in her asylum case and told her the above ie there would be no repercussions for you or the "agent" if you tell the truth. She went in to the hearing and told the examiners that she flew on a direct flight from Addis Abbaba to Dublin. FAIL.
