Started an hour after this vid was taken. Drove around a bit and started again a few times no issue???

I'd try the crankshaft/TDC sensor. Thats what it sounds like to me. Google TDC sensor for Renault and you will see its a common problem for Renaults for that era. Good news is that its a cheap enough fix.

Try flywheel pickup sensor. Wiggle the wires, this may help !

Could it be the card? Reno owners will know this better than me but if the chip in the card is dodgy it might be causing it, unlikely though.

Now again without proper knowledge, had an EGR valve issue in my own motor 2 yrs back, cold weather caused the soot in the EGR to cake and the flap wouldn't release, cleaned it out and got rid of the all the soot. Worked fine until the next block of cold weather. In the end I contacted Traynors, 50 euro for the EGR valve and put it in myself.

If you don't have an EGR valve all my spout is irrelevant! :D

OP's generation megane won't have a card and I'm pretty sure it won't have an EGR valve either. I'd bet my last dollar its the flywheel/tdc/crankshaft sensor.

Crank Sensor as mentioned already, is most likely. Clean it off sometimes helps. Works magnetically basically. Easy to get to too
