HD / Diseqc Receiver

Any recommendations for a FTA DVB-S2 HD receiver, inexpensive please. A family member lives in one of the "2%" areas who are about to lose RTE etc, when their deflector is switched off soon.
I checked around for a Saorview signal from Holywell, but hardly a sniff, certainly not enough to be viable, their daughter across the field has no problem, and I got them up and running ok.
They will have to go Saorsat/FTA satellite for UK channels. They already have a Sky FTV box and card, but don't want to sub to Sky just for RTE. They are aware of not getting TV3 / 3e, but they never had it anyway, so they won't be missing anything.
I can set them up, but need a reasonably priced HD receiver, Diseqc capable.

Skybox M3 MINI (Sharp Tuner) about €50.

Thanks, who sells them? As easy to set up as a Technomate?

    Ali type menus (new openboxes).

Less than half the price of Technomate.

Sharp tuners (this is the diff between the F and M) so sensitive, do diseqc, wifi over usb etc.

Ebay or mixeshop. About €65 incl delivery (have went up since I last looked). Fine for a cheap and cheerful dvb-s2 with semi decent tuner for weak sats.

btw Holywell Hill increases to 20kw at ASO. Power is reduced at present.

I have done plenty of buying on ebay, but this will not be for me, any problems and the problem comes back to me. And then the shipping time vs aso deadline.
    Anything else?

    Ferguson Ariva 52E

€38 before postage from satsklep. Same idea as 150's.

I would recommend the Walker WP95SAT:
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056757154

    1) It's SaorSAT approved so guaranteed MHEG5 7 day Irish guide etc on Saorsat

    2) for the UK channels it gives FreeSAT like channel numbers and auto retuning when channels move transponder.

    3) I have not checked DiSEqC but I assume it has it.

    4) It has a recording option

    5) It's relatively cheap and widely available (powercity etc)

    Downsides:
    Not truly freesat

You will probably have to press a button to switch from SatFree mode to non SatFree mode to switch from UK to Irish channels, unless you keep it in non Satfree mode all the time.

It's cheap and chearful but only has cheap and chearful features (single tuner)

It may have problems recording UK/ROI channels depending on which system it was last left on.

Thanks, but it needs to be able to show all channels in one list and switch seemlessly between satellites. The intended owners are 75 and 80+ so thats why I asked was it as easy as a Technomate. No worries about keeping it updated, thats for me to look after.
I have set up a good few TM receivers with multisat and they are so easy, and a channel editor can be used too.
So it's looking like a TM 5302 or 5402 and a hefty (but way cheaper than Sky) outlay.

In non SatFree mode it should be possible to list every channel in any order, however if going that route then any DVB-S2 box with DiSEqC will work. You won't get 7 day guide on UK channels and possibly not on Saorsat channels.

Make sure you get a dish large enough. In some areas a 1m dish is needed. In other areas I recommend a SOLID 90cm dish for dual 9E and 28.2 with the 9E LNB very close to the centre.
