What type of bedding are you using in your cubicles?
I used a sawdust/lime mix (bought mixed) last year seemed ok.
Going to mix it myself this year.

Actisan is very expensive - theres a similar product called "Sanitise" that i use and seems very good - even feels and smells the same for about 35% less!! I use this about 3 days a week and then baled sawdust and simple flour lime in between days.

that was my problem ,you cannot use ordinary lime with actisan , they cancel each other out , making both products worthless

Did anyone ever think of using Milled peat ?
The same as you would deep litter cattle on, just keep scraping and putting fresh stuff down daily

Sorry for the ignorance but have never used it so no idea of cost

this was the first time i bedded them... a bale at this time of year will last a week, did all the sheds today , got a pallet of bales -bulk load of loose sawdust has shot up in price was over €1000 when i priced it last year- which has 48 on it, this will do me til after christmas. Then will get another one. Tried the peat moss and didnt like it , found it heated and caused mastitis

@keep going. How many cubicles would a bag(if it is bags of you buy) do/day. I see you can buy it with lime already added. Is it much/bag? saw dust is expensive now.

Is the lime you are talking of white rhino? Any one using paper or even know what it costs?
