What are the chances of my friend getting a job in Australia or Canada with a Ordinary Civil Eng. degree?

Sorry, he's just after graduating this year and has 3 summers of Engineering work in England as experience! Are they looking for Honours Degrees in these countries or what?

I would say there is a good chance of getting a job in Australia. Employers there much like here like to see educated people coming through the door so yeah a degree would be best. If you have a masters in engineering that might be some substitute for a lack of hands on experience but if not its not the end of the world.

If your going to Aus then start your job search with labour hire companies such as skilled.com.au or hays.com.au bigger companies my be hesitant to hire you if you only have a 12 month WHV because of the work restrictions that come with temporary visas.
