    Eh?? OK, here we go...

If it's an auto, then 'N' is neutral. If shift, then the middle of the gear shift is neutral.

it means you're in no gear, but can have the engine running without the use of a clutch.

When you can move the gearstick side to side, it's in neutral.

just take the stick near the middle and lightly enough wobble it from left to right and it'll find its way into neutral.Try not to over think it and you'll be grand ;)

No. If your parked on a hill for example, it's good practice to engage gear after the engine is knocked off. Just in case your handbrake were to fail.

I'm not sure if the way i would do it would be a driving inspectors way,but to save my clutch from dying,i always put it into neutral when the engine is running and i'm stationary but when i'm parking up,i put the car into neutral, turn off the engine, and the put it back into gear before getting out.

Putting a car into gear when stopped with the engine off will stop chances of the car moving if something happens to the handbrake. It's just habit with me though.

I always leave can in gear when parked.
    But not always engage handbrake.

I'm going to suggest that if you are finding it hard to get neutral then it may be a problem with you car. I.e worn gear linkages/bushes etc as normally, the gear stick will automatically settle in neutral when you take it out of gear.

Not being funny, but given the fact you've asked where neutral is I sincerely hope you're taking lessons OP, and not bombing about the roads!

Do you mean I'm right, or the one on the right? I'm a bit confused now.

Also, which one is it when there are only two pedals? Do I just use the handbrake then?

    Just push all the pedals.
