I ask because I have seen in the past that some cars I traded in with high mileage have soon after been put up in the web advertised with far lower mileage than I had done on them!
Wondering if it has been done to the 04 Accord im looking at?

why dont you do a cartell/ motorcheck report, you will most likely find out that way? costs a few euro but you're buying peace of mind.

yeah i was looking at a 04 Accord a few years ago, mileage was around 70000miles , not a scratch on the outside (must have been sprayed)
Inside was very battered, leather seat was coming apart, just said no thanks and walked away, definately 100k+ miles done on it

Some sneaky dealers clock cars back to last NCT/service milage
In my case I would do +20k miles per year, one of the previous cars I traded had 147k went up on the web with 117k (had that at NCT 18mnts previous)

*This news just in, Titanic sinks on its maiden voyage, hundreds dead and missing*

could you cut to the chase of what you are getting at?

are you wishing to see if a potential purchase is clocked, telling us someone clocked a car you previously sold, or are you just looking to have a controvertial chat?

I'm sure they can, much like any other car these days.

if the car was in the UK theres a high chance something like this http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Lexus-IS200-GS300-LS400-Speedo-Speedometer-Converter-Chip-KMH-MPH-Delimiter-/220933562051?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3370aa9ec3

could have been fitted. Ive pulled a few out from behind honda clusters, a lot of enthusiasts in the UK do it because they need MPH clocks and the JDM ones all come in km. This would mean the uk/jap import you buy could very well say 70,000km on the odometer but in reality its closer to 70,000 miles (112000km) (obviously the original japan kilometerage would be logged in km)

Of course it can be clocked. If you have any reason to doubt the car, walk away.
If for example its an ex uk diesel accord being offered for sale privately, I would be very very wary.
