Does anybody have a map of the munich lap?

    I found one online here - http://www.duhac.tcdlife.ie/Information/Maps/phoenix_park.jpg

But it just seems to be on the regular flat part of the pitch, so I presume its wrong as there's supposedly hills involved????

    Thanks

Think that's the one, it is over hills beside the Kyber. AFAIK it's the 1500m lap in this image. (This is the lap for the Novices XC)

Is that area generally know as the Munich Hills or is it a name just given to it by clubs ? I thought I knew the park fairly well but never heard of the Munich Hills or lap.

Eamonn Coughlan trained there while trying to qualify for Munich 72.

Ah, I had an idea it was something like that. In that documentary about him a while ago they showed him running around that area a lot.

I normally do the 1200m loop but double back on the rolling hills you start on rather than running on he other side of the path which is flatter. Loop gives me circa 1300m and is a solid loop of undulations to make it difficult

And to state to obvious I presume it's looked on as a really good training route? - the mix of hills and flat section?

Go there anytime between 9 and 11 on a Saturday, and you'll see just how good a training route it is - there are normally groups from several clubs using it.

There are no hills on it as such, just 3-4 metre undulations. Of course, if you're running them fast enough, you'll feel it
