No hot water from timer but works from immersion

    Hi,

I have gas fired boiler. When the timer is set to bring heating and water on, it only heats the rads. I had an electrician guy to check the timer itself and thats working and message getting to cylinder.

For the summer, i got hot water by using the immersion but want to get the system fixed again now for the winter and use the gas to heat the water.

Forgive no correct names for things. The silver box on the rads to bring the rads on does not work and I have hte manual over-ride switch on it. A friend explained that this would work till I got it fixed and does mean the rads are heater. Sometimes the manual over-ride lever pops out and I have to manually move it.

Dont think this is related to No hot water though. Where I am stuck is that I dont know is it a plumber or electrician I need.

Any advise greatly received. I live in Galway area and do not know of a good plumber. Thank you.
