Finding a light laptop for under 600 euro

I've been looking for a new laptop for over a month now, and finding it very hard to find any relatively light (weight) laptops in the 13-15" screen size for under 600 euro. I'm getting to the stage where I might splash out the extra few hundred to get a MAC.

Ideally I want something in the 13-15" screen size, and that's where its difficult to find a good laptop, with good reviews, that isn't a tiny one that you can barely type on.

Simply for personal use, so good battery, good speakers, and I type a lot so ideally a laptop where the keys are close to the hands rest of laptops...I had been looking at HP's but I find the keys are a long way away. I have a Lenovo for work, so maybe I'm just spoilt!

    Any suggestions, cheers!

    Configure your own?

PC Specialist's 14" UltraNote with the following configuration costs £459 (€573):

    Core i3 2370M
4 GB RAM (1x4, easily upgraded)
    250 GB HDD

    Ultra slim DVD writer
    2x USB 3.0, HDMI, 2.0 MP webcam
Win7 HP x64 (OS installation disk included)
    3 yrs warranty

If you choose the 128 GB Kingston SSD (special offer), it will be just north of you budget (€604).

Cheers for the idea, but ideally I didn't want to configure one, and buy one direct.

    In a B&M store?

I seriously doubt you'll find anything like that for less than 600 yoyos there.

But since you've mentioned Lenovo, I just posted this 14" IdeaPad S400 in another thread:

    Core i3 2365M
    4 GB RAM
    500 GB HDD
    0.3MP webcam

    €449

Note: it comes with a German keyboard and without operating system.
