Grant EuroFlame Condensing boiler

    Hi,

I have a Grant EuroFlame Condensing boiler (90-120). It was purchased in October 2010.

Between the end of last November (2011) and start of May of this year, I used approx 750 litres of oil.

Now you might think that is not a lot, but because of work circumstances I was only staying in the house at weekends and the heating was used as sparingly as is possible. I have a stove in the living/kitchen area and that was used as the primary source of heat for the living area. Not to mention it was a very mild winter.

The heating was timed to come on on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 2 hours each, and then when I was there it would be used for approx 2 hours on a Friday, 4 hours on a Saturday and 2 hours on a Sunday.

There were 12 rads to be heated.
    2 Large rads.
    6 Average sized rads
    2 Small rads
    2 Towel rads

I was hoping to not have used as much oil as I did. There are two settings on the boiler (pictures attached) and I know these were interferred with by an inquistive brother of mine, so basically I am wondering if anyone would know if these settings are right/wrong and if they are impacting the efficiency of the boiler ?

    Any tips/suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    S

If the burner setting has been altered you will need to have it reset by a qualified service engineer, make sure he knows what he's doing, including flue analyses.

Agree with that man. If someone has played with the air damper adjustment you will need to have it all commisioned again.
