Your boiler will burn 3 or 4 litres per hour when it's firing, you can work it out from that.

How much did 250 litres cost you?

260 euro, its a firebird model burner, house is built since 1998 and boiler is serviced annually

I am just hoping to get a month out of it, as thats all I can afford each month to put in

An average burner will burn around 3 ltrs getting upto temperature and then around a ltr/hr maintaining it.

Lot of things come into the equation but i would guestimate around 6 weeks.

Make sure your oil tank is locked and secured too.

Serious amount of home heating oil thefts taking place at the moment.:(

Websites are rarely bang up to date.
Better off taking a few minutes to ring around your local suppliers.

That would work out at €1040 for 1000 litres. I got 1000 yesterday for €760. It would pay you to borrow from credit union to buy 1000 litres.

My experience is that theft from heating tanks is way over stated. At least it is not common around here.

The few customers that I had complaining about theft were burning too much due to unserviced boilers and usage became normal when all the gunk was cleaned out and burner set up correctly and an improvement in controls.

Please follow site and charter rules. "Resistance is futile"
