hi i Really need your help regarding my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 8GB, I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 8GB and on every site it says this device is 8GB but when i connected it to my computer it was 4.48. the total size of the SGT2 is 4.48GB and .48 is preloaded apps so the true size in 4GB only. I understand there never spot on but 4 is a lot in GB terms. Has any one experienced this??

    please help me with this

hi wandered if you could answer a question for me, i bought a Samsung galaxy tab 2 and when i hooked it up to the computer it said i only had 4.48GB of total space not 8gbs like it says on the box, how much does yours have?

Samsung claim that you have 8GB of storage but in reality, you only have 4GB, because the storage is divided into two partitions, internal, and a virtual SD card area. If you look at the memory structure, it appears that both the internal & virtual SD card space equal each other.

In other words you are left with 4GB internal memory .

I see so i can only use 4GBs?

Plus external memory card( I think that it goes up to 32GB)

But yes , you are stuck with 4GB internal memory

I understand what you saying but your tablet has 8GB internal memory however you have to take into consideration that operating system takes a lot of memory space .

There is nothing you can do about it unless you decide to get an external memory card

And this is the De facto standard across most if not all other tablets, smartphones excetera. You have not been cheated, but rather learned something new ;) just go and put an sd card in it if you need more memory, they're cheap as chips now.

All true but id love for once to see the actual usable space printed on the packaging you know what i mean? I did have an Archos 101 G9 and its memory was 8 but i had 7.08 to work with
