    Hi folks,
Long time lurker, first time poster.:D

Wondering what you kind people with do with a whole month off? I've found myself in this situation and I'm at a bit of a loose end and just trying to gather a list of things to do that won't break the bank!! I live in Dublin if that's any help :)

    So far my list is:

    Play some pc games
Go to the gym as much as I can
    Tackle Mount Laundry
Shop for new professional working wardrobe
Catch up on reading lots of books

Are there any places anyone would recommend for volunteering in the city centre?

You will manage to complete the first item on your list and that's about it.

In all seriousness, item 1 on your list should be "get out of bed by 9am every day". Unless you do that, then you literally won't get anything done but play some pc games.

Get a cheap flight to as far away as you can and try to make it home on public transport. An adventure!

Thinly veiled I have a month off and you dont mofos thread

As youre a girl Id say go to yoga, let hairdressing students experiment on you, spend a day in Ikea, take in a lunchtime concert, go to a radio shows hilarious live audience spot on a Friday lunchtime. slide into BTs at a quiet time of day for some free makeup, take a bus to Sutton and walk the coast back to Clontarf and have a lovely salad in one of the local cafés, pop down to Kildare Village and get some bargain knee high boots for the winter ahead and maybe some early Christmas trinkets and on the bad afternoons relax at home with the latest gossip magazine and a variety of health promoting teas.

A bloke would never ask the same question for reason of the inevitable answer, as that answer would always be fap.

are you guaranteed a job when you come back - if so, then I would go away for a couple of weeks to the sun.

Practice for your first day in the new job, get up every morning at 8am, wash, get dressed, make your lunch, have breakfast, get the bus and literally walk to the door of your new job but don't go in....that way you'll be known to your new workmates by the time you start. Only problem is you'll be known as "the freak who has been hanging round the front door for the last month!"

All presuming money was ok, I'd make the most of my time to visit people - hard to get trips up home and to friends when I work Monday to Friday, especially since a lot of them work weekends etc. Get my hair done for cheap, go shopping on a weekday when it isn't mental, go out on weeknights when it's cheaper...

Unless you are a teacher, then having a month off between jobs is a luxury. Make the most of it. Last time I had a month off I went island hopping in Hawaii, can defo recommend that. Wish I could have a month off more often!

Go for a sun holiday for a week and then spend the rest of the time desperately trying to top it up in Irish weather. That should see you through the month.

Was in a fairly similar situation recently, list was pretty much the same too... initially.

The addition being, spent lots of time with friends (and not just the same ones over and over), trying to be very sociable... which turned into going out 4-5 nights a week.

That quickly evolved into a Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas style expedition, experimenting with as many class a's as i could get hold of and consume reasonably safely. It was an experience to say the least!!! :D

Not at all advising you do the same... I just mean try to do something you've wanted to do for a while and won't really get the chance to do when you get back to work.

ps - you might need garda vetting to volunteer in many places but it's always worth looking into! gotta say i miss doing it since going back to work.

Alright, so dole, drink, drugs, orgies, internet porn, some wall street trading and a few cups of tae are the general ideas I'm getting here!!

Will definitely try to get out of the house for walks around Dublin maybe even go to the famous Dundrum Shopping Centre or Liffey Valley or Kildare Village !

Yoga sounds fun!! Must drag myself back to the gym...
