Passat 06 2.0 loss of power

Hi, this has happened twice to me now. First time I'm exciting a carpark and attempted to make a normal quick exit onto the rd as I was turning right. However I rolled across the road like a granny in first gear. I was thinking wtf is wrong when saw my rev counter was over 3000k. No engine lights. When I tried accelerating the car reved really high, pedal to floor but moved very slowly. The auto its in 3rd gear so I flip the dsg into manual, no change, so I put it back into auto. W hen I got the chance I pulled in restarted car and all was fine again.

My passat is automatic with a dsg gearbox. I has all four fuel injectors replaced three wks ago under vw recall after I broke down. ( I had the recall letter a few months at thst stage)

This evening I'm pulling actors a crossroad and the same thing happened when I'm across, car revs are 4000 ish and I'm moving really slow, pedal almost to floor. So this time I flick the gesrbox to manual and change gears using the paddles on the steering wheel, bingo car regains correct power.

Any ideas, I'm going to run this by the vw garage who changed the injector but would like a few suggestions to try when it happens again, before I turn up. Thanks

Bring it to a garage with diagnostic equipment and see if any fault codes were logged by the car's ECU.

Going to guess MAF sensor, had the same issue with my 2002 Passat (TDI) passing about 2800rpm in 4th gear - just sudden loss of power, back to normal once I turn off the car and back on again.

Those are totally different symptoms to what the OP is experiencing. If you re-read the first post my interpretation is that the engine is revving up ok but there is no drive.

OP, it sounds like a problem with the DSG gearbox to me. Get a scan done (full global scan or failing that engine and gearbox at a minimum) and report back.

TL;DR I guess ;) Apologies OP, hope you get it sorted.

I had a similar problem about two years ago, but with a manual TDI, not DSG. Anyway, turns out (after replacing both the EGR valve and the boost pressure sensor) that it was a broken signal wire between the ECU and the boost pressure sensor.

Took WEEKS to find it , and 5 minutes and a 50c piece of stereo wire to fix it.

That's a very common problem with them. However the symptoms are totally different to the car the OP has.

Fair enough, sounded very similar - getting little or no power despite high revs.

OP, if you only got the Piezo injectors done recently, try calling VW customer care and asking them to put a goodwill request in for you to have the car looked at again.
