Excuse my ignorance but I have searched the net and Boards but can't find when qualifying ends for handicap adjustments.
Is there a specific date or is it at the discretion of a club based on course conditions etc.

Once there is dropping/placing in the rough then its NQ.
(there are other reasons of course but this typically ends the season)
In the past it was also when you went to 12 holes but now 9 hole comps are qualifying so who knows...

    /edit
And why are yo not watching the Ryder cup!!!

Thanks Greebo, so then its possible that some clubs will still have qualifying events while others will have moved to full winter rules?
So theoretically we could have handicap reductions up to November?

I didn't realise 9 hole competitions were qualifying, I would normally avoid these due to thinking they were just a social knockabout and not being competitive.

I am watching the Ryder cup can't take my eyes off the telly, it's just that I can multitask with the ipad:D

yep totally, all depends on the local rules laid out on the day.

I think it depends on the club if they want to count 9 holes or not, but CONGU allow it.

If holes start to be closed and comps are over unusual numbers, 15, 12 etc. Only 9 or 18 hole comps can be qualifying. Any other numbers cannot be.

Yeah but you can still play 12 holes during a 9 hole comp...the last 3 just arent in the competition.
