Saorview TV & FTA Channels - possible ??

Hi - Looking for some help if someone can advise us.

We currently have a TV (old style Sony 32") in our sitting room. We receive the Irish channels via an analogue aerial and get the FTA channels via a non-subscription sky box. We will have to get a soarview box for this TV to get the irish channels

However we also have a 14" portable in our bedroom. The signal is fed from the sky box in the sittingroom which is controlled by a "magic eye". We have Irish & FTA satellite channels on this TV.

We plan on buying a new Saorview television for the bedroom and a Saorview box for the sitting room.

We would like to keep all the channels that we currently have but we are not sure if this is possible. Is it a matter of fitting a saorview box between the sky box and TV in the sitting room ?

Will the new Saorview TV in the bedroom receive the FTA Sky Channels and the irish digital channels & still be controlled by the magic eye ?

Would there be difficulties tuning the analogue sky channels into the new Saorview TV? Would we need to run any extra co-ax cabling between the two rooms?

Hope this all makes sense. All advise greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in Advance

The Saorview box can, indeed, be fitted 'between' the Sky box & tv, as you say, with the aerial cable from the Sky box RF1 going to the Saorview box RF-in. Not much point looping on to the tv once the analogue channels are gone: the Saorview box output will reach the tv via scart (I'm assuming the tv has no HDMI).

The bedroom tv will be able to receive the Sky RF signal, provided it has an analogue tuner. This thread would seem to suggest that some don't.

Aerial into the Sky receiver, RF2 will carry the Saorview, analogue Sky and terrestrial analogue signal to the bedroom and the magic eye will continue to work as before. When tuning the new TV in the bedroom, scan for both digital and analogue channels.

In the living room place the Saorview box after the sky receiver, RF1 out to aerial in on Saorview receiver. Connect Saorview receiver to the TV via scart or hdmi.

This seems simple enough.I was unsure about the magic eye and whether I would need to change the aerial cables. Thanks for the help.
