Dodgy e-mail from Spain

I've just received this e-mail from a girl I've never heard of - don't know if I can name her here, but just to warn others:

"Quote - I hope you get this on time,I'm writing this with tears in my eye,I made a short trip to Spain unannounced a few days back for a short vacation,Unfortunately for me i got mugged at GUN POINT last night! My phone, credit card and all cash were stolen off me.Butfortunately me my passport was back in the hotel room.It was a bitter experience and I was hurt on my right hand, but I would be fine. I do not want anyone to panic, I want you to keep it that way for now!

But i am having trouble sorting the hotel bills and the hotel manager won't let me leave until i settle the hotel bills. This is painful as i do not have enough to get me home. Please I want you to lend me the sum of 1,500 euro, but would appreciate whatever you can spare!!..just to clear the hotel bills and get the next plane home.. Can you spare that much? I promise to refunded your money back immediately on my return.Please write back to me so i can give you details on how you can get the money transfer to me.Please save me from the embarrassment of not being able to cover the bills.

I got one from a girl that calls me babe and really misses me. To be honest, I don't quite remember her but she says such nice things and speaks so affectionately that we must have been close once! All I have to do is go to her website and donate some money. I can't believe my luck!

Very difficult to do if they're emailing you from Spain (or Nigeria).

Email her back asking her for naked pictures of herself. If she's genuine she shouldn't have a problem sending them to a complete stranger just like she has no problem asking a complete stranger for money.


If she does happen to send some then please host them somewhere and post the link here. If she's a ride, I'll consider helping her pay her hotel bill.

I got that over 2 years ago except it wasnt by a stranger it was by one of the emails on my friends list

they then sent everyone an email saying it was spam a while later

Old as the hills. These things kicked off after the Netscape years when the height of Internet humour was getting some tw@t to click a link and make the cd tray of his computer open. Also time of the 'jeez lads, click here for naked pics of britney spears!' and then your screen would flash on and off for 20 seconds 'I'm gay' in huge pink letters and you just had to turn off the monitor before anyone else in the computer room saw the big red head on ya.
