Change in Circumstances

    Hi guys,

Basically I have been approved for JSA at €50 euro a week because my girlfriend is working. I've just finished up in college and haven't had any income since February of this year. I'm starting a jobbridge internship in a few weeks and was hoping to have a bit more money coming in during that time.

So I'm thinking of moving back home with my folks so that the means testing won't really come into play. I'm willing to grit my teeth and put up with it for 10-12 weeks as the €50 a week just isn't enough to live on.

My question is, if I let the Social Welfare know that I am now living at home, how long would it take for them to change my payments? If anyone has had to go through this process before?

    You are over 25 yeah?
We went into the office after my maternity leave ended.
They asked for a good few documents, this took 3 weeks to come up with.
After all documents were in the submitted, it took us about 3 weeks for the new means test to be sent to the house and the payment the next week had the increase in it.

We didnt get back dated the increase was only from when the means test decision was made.
