Haulage for hay

    hoping to buy hay in dublin/meath area.need it delivered to kerry.how much a bale would this add to cost any any reccomended hauliers??

    i use a lad from kildare to get hay and straw from hes fairly relaible and fair enough,dont know how much delivery would be but be no harm asking

    You should talk to some of your local haulage contractors... They may be glad of a back load and it could work out cheaper...

    Dundalk to Ballaghaderreen with straw is 500 a load,nearly 200 Kms,your journey could be near 350kms so expect 750 euro.

    I would expect to backload it out for around €400 - €450 its all about knowing the right boys:rolleyes::rolleyes:. I will think during the afternoon who would be traveling that route. Usually pay around €1.50 a km when backloading but all my work is bulker

    That's exactly what I was quoted last May. Forty foot artic, 450km round trip, €450.

    450 on a backhaul sounds right! What you should look at is any people in kerry or cork boarder that draw flats ring them up, i would it is not time critical, ie you could tell them 3/4 days ahead of schedule which means they will give you a better rate.

    not time critical - 3/4 days notice, are you mad, I give my boys at least 10 days notice, rang a boy today to do a job in the next month. I presume a € a km is ex vat. I will pm you a few numbers who would be around that area.
