Golf Caddy Recommendation for a present

    Hi all,

Looking for some help in picking an electric golf caddy as a present for my husband. Unfortunately I know basically nothing about golf! I don't really want to walk into a shop to buy one without any basic idea of what I should be looking for - don't want to get conned! Any tips on what type of thing I should look out for would be much appreciated! Any particular features that are a must have?

    Thanks in advance!

You cant go wrong with a PowaKaddy. McGuirkds have one here http://www.mcguirksgolf.com/powakaddy-freeway-1-caddycar/pk4000pd.html

Another good brand is MotoKaddy. Visit other websites like halpennygolf and golfstoreeurope to compare prices

As peepee says, it's a toss up between Powakaddy and Motocaddy. They each have a two or three versions in their range with extras such as digital display and distance measurements. If your husband likes his gadgets this might be a factor. Check out the comparison chart here: http://www.motocaddy.com/uk/s3-pro-electric-trolley

One thing to consider is the type of battery that you get with it. They all come as standard with a rather heavy lead battery. It does the job though and if cared for should last for years. The Rolls Royce option is to go for a lithium battery. These are smaller, much lighter and are more efficient with their charge. They do add about €200 to the cost though.

I have a Motocaddy for the last 3 years and wouldn't look at another caddy car. First class job.

Thanks everyone - that's really helpful. Feel a bit more confident now, will pop out to McGuirks over the weekend to check them out.

no harm in mentioning a golf glider too - not sure how much they are new but they are fairly robust and will last years.

As CharlieIRL says, I think you need to be seriously considering GolfGlider if you are buying. There is a reason that when you rent an electric trolley at most clubs you are given a GolfGlider. They last.

Would say that powakaddy, motocaddy or golf glider are the brands to go for.

Would recommend you buy in store as a family member has been waiting for 3 weeks for delivery and told it'll be another week before the powakaddy they ordered will be delivered.
