We don't breed but I thought from chat that CF52 was way over used here in Ireland. I've also heard that heifers would have little to no milk either. If this is the case why would you want to breed of the straws ?

Well obviously not everyone is going to like him but he was in the top 1 percent of the breed for weanling and beef index and 99% reliability and he produced lots show winners and top sales everywere, some people will say he had plenty of milk and others will say no milk , you have to look at the breeding of your cow to start off with and what milk she has

Be aware that the department don't look too kindly on farmers selling straws without a licence lads

Overpriced, unknown quality, bordering on illegal and a bull I didn't really like.
    No thanks.

Is there anything wrong with a lad having his own tank and bulling his own cows without a licence or do you need a licence to buy straws in the first place ?

    ,
afaik you don't need a licence to buy straws. The licence is required to do the ai yourself. Have straws bought myself which my ai man holds for me.

No but you need to be a registered semen store to sell them and have to buy from such a source

Always makes me suspicious when I see them on dd. How can you tell how they were stored etc etc. Best to buy from the ai companies direct.

AFAIK you must have a valid DIY Ai licence if you want to buy straws and store them in a flask on your own farm. You are not supposed to hold note than 2.5 straws for every breeding female on your farm at any time. Buying straws and getting them stored in your Ai mans flask doesn't require a licence.
