I always weigh before I cook but only because I never thought of doing it after, so I'm not actually sure now if I'm right or wrong

cooked chicken has 'x' amount of calories per 100g and raw has 'y' amount of kcal/100g. it doesn't matter when you weight, just make sure you count it accordingly to the state of the chicken (cooked, raw, cooked with skin, fried etc all will have different amount of kcal/100g, it easy to find out -- ask google.)

Just so you know whats going on, sorry it this sounds obvious. Water has no calories, so the fresh chicken breast will have less calories than a roasted chicken breast. As you "boil off" the water you in effect concentrate the calories, the fresh 140g breast might weigh 110g after cooking. So overcooked roasted chicken will have more calories per 100g than steamed ones.

Similar with pasta or rice -per 100g overcooked sodden pasta/rice has less calories than undercooked rice/pasta.

How has that any relevance to the thread?

OP. I usually weigh my food raw unless it's pre-cooked.
