Tim kelly is one of the best radio presenters in the country but those fools at today fm let up go from his full time slot. It is Tim Kelly who should be on today fm from 9 till noon not Ray Darcy. It was tim kellys slot and he was a ratings winner but big willie came in from RTE and gave the job to his pal Ray Darcy.

Tim Kelly was getting 75k in that slot versus 250k for Darcy. Maybe thats a moral victory? ;)

Tim Kelly is a dinosaur in radio terms.

And what is with these troll threads being opened and then the OP shuts down their account... what's the point?

    Who ?

I'll take that question on face value! Tim Kelly was one of the original deejays on Dublin's 98FM way back in November 1989. In early 1998, when Radio Ireland relaunched itself as Today FM, Tim Kelly came on board. Apart from a few more gigs that year, Tim parted company with 98FM.

Over the last couple of years, Tim seems to have lost any regular slots on Today FM. I can only assume that he spends a lot of time working behind the scenes on Today FM.

When he was with 98FM, he used to be on weekday evenings. His program included "The Classic Nine at Nine". Tim used to have a slot mid-mornings on Saturdays on Today FM, where he had "The Classic Nine at Eleven"!

And on Today FM mid mornings weekdays it was "The Classic Ten at Ten". Radio innovation at its highest.

According to his linkedin page he is no longer with Today Fm and his ghostbusters website seems to be offline too.

Does this mean the Tim Kelly building has been demolished?

When did Tim leave Today FM and what has he been doing since then?

Very bad of Today Fm not to mention his departure and thank him for his services. He was with them since their first day on air under the Today Fm name and was very reliable over the years covering every shift on the station.

Did he go voluntarily or was he pushed? The article does not explain the circumstances of his leaving.

Sorry, I'm in the "I think he's terrible" camp". Instant channel changer!

Irritating voice and really cheesy delivery IMO.

Yes, I heard Tim Kelly broadcasting on Classic Hits 4FM over the weekend and he sounded his usual upbeat self. I often recall him doing Friday Night 80's not to mention the Top Nine@11 segments on mid-mornings from the Tim Kelly Building on 100-102 Today fm a few years back!
