    wouldnt buy a second hand phone off a site. my dads mate spent 350 on a galaxy s3 it was tracked down and the guards took it he was out 350 quid.

    im looking for prices for brand new phones on 02 meteor etc

    Only one way to buy a phone in Ireland at the moment and thats through a verifed seller on adverts. i bet your dads mate bought from Donedeal or Gumtree ;)

    You're right not to trust private sellers but I've bought several phones on adverts, never a bother.
    Keep your wits about you, meet in person to try phone etc. If anything seems wrong just walk away.

    Yes, of course prices for the 4s will come down, particularly if you wait a few months for people to move over as not everyone will move immediately.

    If you look at the costs
    Phone euro 99
    41 euro/month * 18 = 738
    That's 837

    Buy a second hand phone on advert and go with 3 pay as you go or similar
    Phone 450 (give or take)
    20 euro/month * 18 = 360
    That's 810.

    Seems like a pretty good deal as you pay just a little extra to Meteor but get a new phone.
