We've called a number of people from the panel over the years. Once you're on a school's list and show that you can be in a classroom within a short time of being rung, you'll get work.
It's the ones we ring who dither about and won't come in (or who don't answer) that we stop ringing.

Yes it is from what I remember. Perhaps not quite as long.
