Ok I don’t know a whole lot about this topic hence posting query here. I am just after buying a new house Managed to pick up 2 sky+hd boxes and a sky dish from previous rental properties. Looking to get all the usual channels (rte, bbc, c4, e4 etc) plus sky sports in my living room and just the free to air channels (bbc, c4 etc) in the bedroom. What is the best and cheapest way to go about this? Will the boxes I have be sufficient to pick up stations?thanks

if you want sports then sky is the easiest solution, (you can get sports via other satellites have a look at foreign satellite )

if sign up as a new customer they will install a new dish and box , you can use your existing box in the bedroom , you can get the installer to run extra lines to other areas.

If you're quick (see this offer) you can get the Sky sports package for half price and as you have a couple of spare boxes you can use in other rooms the Sky installers will usually sort you out by hooking them up also - for a small charge of course.

Thanks lads.. Think ill go with the skysports offer. Am i right in thinking the additional sky boxes will be able to recieve all the freesat stations without subscription?? Anyone any experience of getting the installers to run additional cables from dish to bedroom for an extra few quid?

    Yes..
You will have to ring sky to enable the record /pause facility.

Thanks John Mac,I'll probably get a new box off sky so-its just the whole process of ringing Sky that does my head in!!

I would look on Adverts.ie or Ebay for a box as you will get it a lot cheaper. You just have to ring Sky then to get the card paired with the new box.
