Hi folks sorry this might be a bit long but i am really stressed about it at the moment

Bit of background, work for a smallish company with two offices. Small enough staff level, I am manager and the boss is almost always onsite.

Got on great, she had great belief in me, I loved my job and went over and above to help out when needed, including working later (many hours for free) and working days off and being available for cover at short notice.

Took a weeks hols in Aug and texted her a few times with no response. Asked if anything was wrong, gotta love gut feelings and was told she was tired and stressed etc.

Got back to work on the monday to an icy cold reception and on the Tuesday she blew up at me over watching a procedure I had never seen before and not doing my job. I pointed out my shift had finished and she went off on a tirade saying the accountant I had had a meeting with the Friday before I left, first time I ever met her I might add had said I was totally disrespectful of my boss, dont do my job properly, working extra hours and not getting work done, yet these hours I have never claimed for AND i would not be staying unless it was necessary.

she would not back down and only did when I sent a mail to her accountant and told her I would do her for slander and defamation of character when she only met me once for an hour.

My boss immediately backed down, said she was under a lot of stress and took it out on me and that she took more from what the accountant had said than what she actually said, in fact it was nothing along those lines.

So apparently the air was cleared but my boss has not been the same to me since. I feel really uncomfortable and second guessing myself. Two new members of staff started and the first I knew of it was when they turned up for work. the other staff who are supposed to be under me asked who they were and I admitted I didnt have a clue, the new staff had to tell us.

She has also taken the rota to do herself when its always been the managers job.

Today beats all i was off and the till was down. There was €65 euro in the safe that belonged to a customer since Friday to clear their account. I paid it off their account on Saturday when I popped in luckily the proof is in the cash up but, my boss asked the other two girls if I would have taken it from the safe!!!!!!

One of the girls who took the money in had texted me to say it was there and I had told her I would deal with it and when asked if she knew where it was denied all knowledge. I have since ripped her a new one

Thing is, my boss has totally undermined me in front of staff, made me look like a thief and I feel like I am a sitting duck.

Note since I started just over a year ago, six staff have left and many more before I started.

I have even seen this pattern before, the practice manager I took over from was like me at the start, did over and above for no thanks, was the best thing since sliced bread and then the nitpicking started on her till she eventually left.

I dont know how to approach this or even if its worth it. I love my job itself but I dont like the undermining and being treated like this.

    Am I just oversensitive??
