I installed ios6 today and now my whatsapp won't use the phone book entry for push notifications- it uses the name the other person enters upon set up. In the chats it has the phonebook name though. Is there any way of changing it back so that it uses the phonebook name?

You might need to give it permission to use your contacts. Check Settings > Privacy > Contacts.
