Hi, i am currently driving an 09 1.4l open corsa. I am a named driver on my sisters policy. she pays 750 euro and i am paying 130 for 6 months or around 250 for the year.

I am hoping to buy a car of my own but i would love some guidance as to what car i should get that would be fairly cheap to insure? Also, the best way to go about it. eg. should i be put down as a named driver on my sister or parents policy to get it cheaper or my own?

I was thinking something along the lines of a rover mg, suziki swift or anything fairly pleasant and easy run

If you own the car and are the main driver, you need to be the policy holder. Having it in someone elses name is essentially fraud, and illegal.

There's no such thing as cheap car insurance for learners, really. The male aspect won't matter so much come december, but still expect to pay 1500+ for insurance.

Yaris gives one of the cheapest quotes id say. Not many get crashed.
