Cena - I can't think of a wrestler less suited to head the nWo, upset the establishment and hog the main event all over again. He is the establishment, an unshakeable beacon of an average product, with safe, inconsequential storylines and characters.

Even WWE's fantasy booking relies on things over a decade old. :(

eh wat? aren't they all non-american btw?

anyway, the only faction that would have worked, that WWE really dropped the ball with, was Sheamo, Barrett, Drew and Batistwo. Also have Regal as like the mouthpiece or something ala flair in Evolution. It practically wrote itself, the Europeans versus the americans. I suppose you could have thrown in cesaro too.

It wouldn`t be a callback but if they did a group of guys who suffered from stop start pushes it`d be one large group.
No J.O.B Squad, Mean Street Posse, Union, Evolution, RTC, or Oddities suggestions you disappoint me again wwe. No Corre either they were......great.

Figured Punk would fall into Paul E's group.
Though having his own flock doesn't look too bad. I saw Kidd there and thought it was Alex Riley since he looked like the pic of Riley from the Dangerous Alliance.

And is there something they know that we don;t when they're using Kidd as the equivalent of Saturn as he's the closest ally? Has Punk even acknowledged Kidd on air?

No. But this is just a hypothetical piece, remember?! Although they would make a pretty good team I think! Would've liked to see who they think The Hart Foundation would enlist to bulk up their numbers nowadays if they were still in existence (after Natalya).

Tyson Kidd anyway would have to be in it! Why oh why did they break him and DH Smith up, made zero sense! Same goes for Cryme Time. Split, feud, bury both.

They should seriously have considered formed the fictional stable from WWE '12 called 'The United Kingdom' - which comprised of Drew, Sheamus, Barrett and Regal, or at least some rendition of it that included Santino and Cesaro.

And then an all-american stable to rival them. Would have been great tbh, and they could still do it.

Problem is, with WWE looking to avoid controversy and non-PC like behaviour, its just not gonna happen.

how exactly is cena much different from hogan in 1996, cenas a character on tv and has much less power than hogan had back then, cena doesn't have creative control, ability to push his friends/design storylines around them or take most of the profits from ppv like hogan did back then, if you look at the big picture hogan joining nwo and upsetting the establishment made no sense seeing as he was the most powerful wrestler in history

were wrestling fans really that forgetful that a man that interjected himself into the main event of mania 9 and then would only drop the belt to the person he wanted to, was really sticking it to the man come 1996

John Cena is the modern equivalent of Hulk Hogan, and, for all intents and purposes, Sheamus fills that secondary "Warrior" role, when it comes to merchandise and being big with the kids. The company basically used our beloved Attitude era to gain some attention again, but this is the formula that they have always felt best using. That's just the way it is. - All of the above is my opinion, but I feel that we talk about this every day.

Did they ever even win a match.

Yeah. Between them they won the Hardcore title a few times when it was defended 24/7. They used to pick on Test an awful lot back when Stephanie was going on dates with him.

    (Mean Street Posse theme music)

I'm all for that becoming our national anthem. Pity they aren't in WWE 13

Oh I knew that, But all I can remember is Brisco & Patterson beating them in a few singles

That proves nothing. Sure Brooklyn Brawler beat HHH in a singles match. :P
