No Power to my Riello RDB1 70-90 kerosene boiler

    Hi There,

Hope someone can offer some advice here. There's no power running to my boiler and i'm not sure why. All was fine until we turned the heating on tonight and the boiler never started. I have kerosene in the tank and my husband checked the power source using an extension cord from inside the house and it seems like there is power running to the sockets in the unit itself so that's not the issue.
There's no response to the reset button, my husband opened the control box and all the terminals are wired fine, he also checked the safety and limit thermostat and both seemed wired fine also.

Any ideas please folks, thanks a mill.

We didn't check, would we need a voltage tester for that? The problem area seems to be somewhere between the thermostats and the control box though as everything else seems to be working fine.
I was wondering also if it could just be a blown fuse? There looks like there is one on the owners manual wiring diagram between the main live and thermostats but we didn't spot on on ours!
I can upload pics of the unit if that can clear things up a bit, not 100% sure what i'm even on about tbh :)

have you got a phase tester? if there is power at the socket (i assume the socket is controlled by a timeclock) the next place to check is the stat . if there is no power at the inlet side of the dual stat check the fuse, if there is power at the inlet side of the check to see if there is power on the outlet side if not has the high limit stat triped out ?

Thanks a million browner85, my husband bought a phase tester today and whilst checking the power on the stats he inadvertently released the trip on the stat, everything is working perfectly again.

Cheers for your help, much appreciated!

from reading your post it sounds like your boiler tripped its high temp
stat as this is a very important safety feature of your boiler you should urgently
have your boiler checked by a competent service engineer if this problem persists
just resetting it only masks a potential problem
