Ultravox are back and have just begun touring Britain as the start of a world tour. Sadly no Irish dates so far but I have turned my Facebook page into a one man crusade to get them here. Any Vox fans out there who would like to help please add me as a friend on the site and lets start a scream. Cheers.

Ive got two words George, John Foxx, google him, know your history about Ultravox they stretch back to 1975 and were more a cold dark electronic (in a good way) band back then. It was Midge Ure who brought the pop edge to Ultravox. Did you know that Midge Ure was also a member of Thin Lizzy, Visage and another group in the 1970s called Slik.

Ive been onto to the people running the Electric Picnic festival to book John Foxx for years as he is up there with Gary Numan and Kraftwerk and the like, I love the original version of Underpass. as well as to book the mighty Aphex Twin, maybe they could encourage him to go retro, use analogue synthesisers instead of the laptop and work with Chris Cunningham for the show. Aphex for me would be the continuing synth legend in the 1990s anyway, until he went his drum and bass, jungle, drill dance music, which I also love

Well Ive got the this little campaign going to get Aphex Twin for the next Electric Picnic, well it was initially the last Electric Picnic but they booked Squarepusher instead who was pretty good it has to be said.

But if you feel inclined you could join my little group or maybe even mention the campaign on air, maybe I could get some other groups up and running at some point. Check out this one and tell me what you think https://www.facebook.com/groups/306301782765054/ I havent done much activity on it recently, but there should be a few fresh clips tomorrow on Youtube of his remote controlled orchestra show in London.

Just wondering what clout do you have? Could you get him a prime-time slot on Near FM?

George you should try and get them for Electric picnic, but it would probably be a late afternoon - early evening slot in one of the marquees. The reason I mention the Picnic is they have been known to book early 1980s synth acts at some of the festivals, such as Gary Numan, Pet Shop Boys, Erasure etc. It looks like as with Numan, Ultravox are just doing a short UK tour at the moment. So maybe press for a festival appearance at Oxegen or EP.
