Have iTunes 10.6.1.7 on PC running Windows 7. Updated iPhone to iOS 6. It won't sync with iTunes, and says I have to update. I tried to update to iTunes 7, and there's an error, they recommend I try manually. Manually does not work either. Website says to uninstall and reinstall iTunes. I try to uninstall using the Control Panel, and it sayd that Windows installer is already installing something else. Any help would be appreciated!

Try uninstalling all iTunes components (quicktime, bonjour, media device detector etc) then restart the computer. Then try and install the new version of itunes. Any probs post back :)

    Thanks!

Tried uninstalling Bonjour, Media Device and both times I receive a message saying "Another program is being installed. Please wait until that installation is complete, and then try installing this software again." I'm not installing anything else, as far as I'm aware....Though this could be the dawn of my computer finally becoming an autonomous robot. :O

More like "welcome to the world of iTunes" ;) . Reboot the machine and see if you can uninstall it along rest of the apple stuff. Also make sure to remove safari and any other apple software. Then re-download the itunes installer, and see if it will install

    thank you Nick!

    Question before I do this:

Will I lose anything? I'm terrible with backing up! I have my music saved though. Don't really care about apps and stuff. Purchased things will just reappear when I log into my apple account I'm assuming. When I reinstall it, I can just upload my music folder, and it'll all be the same again?

I'm starting to really dislike apple!

Uninstalling itunes should not touch your itunes library, but I'm not sure either. Your itunes library is usually stored in your music folder, so if worried copy it onto another disk before doing the uninstall
