i plan on getting the new iphone5 when it comes out here in ireland,im with o2, but iv noticed on the uk website that o2 are only allowing 24 month contracts?

this seems a bit ridicoulous??!and does this mean it willl be the same in ireland?theres no way id get sucked into a 24 month contract...

do the uk plans/tariffs normally end up being around the same as irish ones?

if so off to vodafone i go.

They are two different companies and therefore offer different pricing structures and tariffs tailored to respective national markets. What O2 UK do is irrelevant to here.

Having said that, most Irish networks require a minimum of 18/24 months for iPhone and increasingly 24 months will become the norm.

However, I suggest you keep an eye on O2.ie. or ask on the "Talk to O2" sub-forum.
