My 99 nissan micra just failed it's nct because of primary structure corrosion on the front of the car. The man didn't really explain what this meant but just told me that I needed to take it to a panel beaters to get reinforced. Could anyone give me a rough idea of what this might cost as I haven't got a clue about cars.. Thanks!

Depends on how far gone it is. Best to not fret till you bring it to bodyshop.

Did it fail on anything else

Yes one other thing.. the handbrake imbalance but I am hoping that won't be too much

handbrake imbalance is no big deal, you might need to get new brake shoes fitted or maybe it only needs adjusting, any mickie mouse mechanic should be able to sort that out for ya very easily,i'd be more concerned about the corrosion, bring it to a couple of bodyshops and get quotes for the work, some mechanics might even take it on depending how bad it is.

i wouldnt say any mickey mouse mechanick would do it 100 % without special equipment ... which checks brake force. ... unless owner happy pay for new hand brake cables, new brake cylinders, new drums and new pads. ... than itll be equal.

That was common enough on the k11's alright. i think i'm also right in saying you can buy the part spurious and have it welded in, think i seen it done on the micra owners forum a few times cheap enough.

You'd be right, by the sounds of it probably just needs plating in places?
My missus has a k11, I know I'd only be doing the bare minimum on a car worth so little.
