hi everyone.. I hope people can give me some advice here.I am currently doing a fas coarse. Part of it i 4 weekswork experience. The tutor was sorting out placements for us when a company said they had a project coming up and would take 2 people on for 9 months on the work placement. The person in fas came in then and said she was going to ask all the places thst people are on would they like to keep people on under this scheme..im majorly pissed at this i was hoping that at thn end of the 4 weeks i might be able to get a proper fulltime job. I cannot survive on the job bridge wage as i have to commute so much everyday. Any chances of getting proper employment will be out the window now..why would a company say they will pug me on their paylist when fas ask them for job bridge..Where rights do i have here..iam afraid to start work experience in casd im offered a job bridge an if i refuse sure then i may not be allowed to sign back on because i will have refused a job.If i refuse to do the work expereince and take the hit of no payment for the 4 weeks will i be able sign back on? It might be better to do this than risk been forced onto job bridge. And try seek genuine job.Its a slave labour scheme..at the end of it you are unemployed again aftef breaking sweat and balls for 9 months for nothing.all this scheme is doing is gettinv people ofc live registar and and letting companies use the interns and expose them after.Sorry there are some spelling misteaks i am using my phone.Hopd someone can advise me what to do.

You can refuse job bridge and it won't effect your claim, but I wouldn't leave the fas course early. You can report this to the job briidge co ordinator and your local td, see the work and jobs forum for people that have done this.

You seem to have gotten yourself very worked up! Couple of points

Even if the role was extended to jobbridge, you are encouraged to continue to seek paid employment whilst in jobbridge and if you do secure paid employment, you can leave the jobbridge at any time

4 weeks experience is nothing, its an employers market and so i wouldnt turn my nose up at the possibility of gaining extra experience in a job bridge. You are up against candidates with years of experience.

finally calm down! I understand its tough making ends meet but getting so worked up about something isnt going to solve anything.

    Good luck
