    Hi randel.

When using your Visa Debit card to withdraw funds from an ATM while still within the EU, the only charge that may apply is the transaction charge of 28c.
For more information on fee's and charges abroad, please see here.

    Thanks for your query.

    Thanks for that reply,

Just one more quick question: Would it be cheaper therefore to preload my BOI credit card? Is there any charge on withdrawals from a credit card in credit?

    Hi randel,

Within the Eurozone there are no additional charges for using your card to make purchases.

When withdrawing cash, a cash withdrawal fee of €2.54 or 1.5% whichever is greater, applies unless the credit card is in credit when the transaction hits the account or has a zero balance after the transaction is completed.

    Thanks for the query.

    Billy
