    Hey All,

I've had a good look through the form lines of the runners in this race and the relative prices trying to find value.

Assuming the inspection passes and we're good to run 2moro on the heavy going there are only 5 horses who can win IMO.

    6. Our Jonathan - From Kevin Ryan yard who do well in this race. Won this last year from same barrier and same underfoot conditions. Should be there at the business end - 10/1

    8. Pintura - Another from the Ryan yard. He's in great form, has been given time to freshen up having won in Galway off a massive weight and has a good draw. Makin in the plate. 22/1

    21. Colonel Mak - Graham Gibbons takes the ride on The Barron's runner. Loves this race. Won the Silver Cup in 2010 and 4th last year. With conditions to suit and a love of the course he should be thereabouts at a nice price. 20/1

    26. Alben Star - Has been a short price fav in a few of these big field handicaps. Fahey thinks the a fair bit of this horse and gets in off 8'10 and has course form. Hamilton picked it above other stable entries. Huge chance. 20/1

    16. Regal Parade - From the Bradley yard. Been around years and is back in form. Is weighted to reverse the recent placings behind Maarek and Our Jonathan. 25/1

Will probably box those 5 for trifectas, first four bets, singles, forecasts and place market bets. Also in the vs markets I like these guys.

Going in on these should be profitable..... Hopefully.

Anyone any thoughts on my/your own selections.

    Thanks

    Dave

Can't dispute any of the ones you've picked out. I've got Our Jonathan at 20/1 so I'm sitting pretty at the moment.

aidankk pointed out Johnny Mudball who I think is a lively outsider. He is an outsider but went off favourite for this in 2010 after finishing 2nd in the Stewards Cup. He's coming back to form lately, whether this will be too much for him is yet to be seen. Definitely the most interesting outsider in the race.

The kind people at Paddy Power gave me a free 50 quid bet yesterday. After much studying of the form for the next couple of days I settled on Regal Parade at 25/1. This is a quality horse and won this in 08 off a one pound lower mark. He's a dual group 1 winner and will handle the ground, and his second to Night Carnation last time over 5 shows he's coming here in good form

    THE CHEKA 18/1

    BRAE HILL 33/1

    RODRIGO DE TORRES 40/1

    SHOLAAN 12/1

I will have to get it down to two tomorrow, it is one tough race to pick the winner from,

the ground is going to be key.

My two are Maarek 12/1 & Sholaan 14/1. Also taken some of the 33s about Jedward in the silvery version. Write ups to come later.

Had a quick glance at the card. I'm always watching everyone else throw down their selections so I figured why not join in this week?! My e/w selections/fancies for Ayr. Wouldn't have a strong opinion on anything given the field sizes.

Bronze Cup - Amenable & Llewellyn
Silver Cup - Spinatrix (form looks ok with misplaced fortune popping up in ponty this week)
Gold Cup - Cpt Ramius (just the jockey booking catches my eye)

    Best of luck everyone

Looking at todays big field 5f sprint low draw is definitely the place to be but that could change with a couple of races tomorrow!

For me though i'll stick with the low draws:
Bronze Cup: Who I think will win, Cheveton low draw and has a good record over the course and I always back Richard Price's horse's( I've no idea why!)
Who i think will run a nice race and place: Time Medicean

Silver Cup: Who i think will win, Kaldoun Kingdom is down to a nice mark was running on nicely last time and with George Chaloner taking 7lb off could well go close with a low draw and course form also.
Who I think will run a nice race and place: Highland Colori

Gold Cup: Who I think will win, Sholaan has the potential to blow these apart with a great draw in 2 and the soft going also in his favour. William Haggas has set this race out for him and given the horse a big rest after disappointing on good to firm last time. Least exposed horse in the race and 14/1 is fantastic value.
Who I think will run a nice race and place: Louis the Pious

    So avoid at your leisure:D

Seemed to favour middle to low draws in the one race today and Our Jonathan raced on the side with low numbers to win last year. We'll no more after the bronze cup tomorrow though but I'm hoping its low!

hi all 1st post so please be gentle, very hard race but i fancy a few the first being maarek to me hes the classiest horse in the race and comes here in great form winning 4 times this season including a win in the group 3 chipchase @ newcastle on bottomless ground and last time winning the renaissance stakes @ the curragh when there was ease in the ground

I do like Colonel Mak and I think it is fair to say that this race has always been on his agenda after he won well on soft ground at Hamilton in July. He run a solid race to finish 4th behind Our Jonathan in this race last season and 12 months prior to that he won the Silver Cup so clearly likes the sea air up in Scotland. If the high numbers do provide the best side to be he is ideally positioned to take advantage in stall 22.I would be even more positive about his chances but although he handles soft ground I am not so sure about anything worse.

i also like our jonathan but it still needs pointing out that 33 of the last 34 Ayr Gold Cup favourites have been beaten. The other major negative concerning Our Jonathan is the fact that no horse has recorded back-to-back victories in the Ayr Gold Cup since Heronslea in 1930/31 although Funfair Wane did win the race in 2002 and 2004.

so i will go with maarek and Colonel Mak

good luck whatever you bet today

    Ayr Bronze Cup Result:
    1st Jack Dexter 5/1fav
    2nd Cheveton 6/1 2ndfav
    3rd Best Trip 14/1
    4th Roker Park 16/1

Mid to low draws once again the place to be by the looks of it and the winner won it very well.

On a side note what a fantastic season Graham Lee is having on the flat

    Silver cup result:

    1st: Mass rally (20)
    2nd: Highland colori (13)
    3rd: An Saighdiur (24)

I don't think it matters where your drawn tbh.

Got one. 33/1 last night. I got 18/1 at lunch today. I see pricewise tipped him am but hopefully some of you might have got something out of the race. Those sprints are so hard to try to catch one in.
