How do you dry off your milkers?
Milk them on alternate days or just tube straight off.
Which dry cow tubes would you recommend and do you use a teat sealer?

milk OAD for maybe a week,

don't use dry cow tubes .

    we do use a sealer

always try to give the cow at least 8 weeks dry

Was thinking of asking a similar q for sucklers. Had to cull a cow due to mastitis after calving. They got dried off in the shed with no tubes so our fault

start by cutting down the meal on feed to yield about 12weeks before their due- at 7 weeks they are dried off cold turkey regardless of milk- just umbro dry cow tubes-no sealer

cow will get done for worms and fluke on dry off-followed by just ZANIL the day they calve

will also get rotovac and will start spraying the top of their udders under the tail with iodine-will do this every week

cows normally dry for 42days and most will be left in shed with just hay to dry them up
