whats an acceptable % return achieveable on investment?

my pension is stuck at almost 5-10%, all equities


but,

i was think.

suppose I started investing myself, what return should i be aiming for , realistically of course,

i dont want to say 6 if a post office has 7, . .

so i was wondering, is there an average out there. .

you know those large investment companies/brokers. . . . do they have an average ROI ?

6% is a good benchmark for average returns over the medium-to-long term.
However, it all depends on how much risk you are willing to take.
Your pension vehicle should give you the option to switch between (professionally managed) investment funds, and there is a massive choice available. May be a good idea to start there.
