I passed my test about a year ago - but never actually got my pink liscence - (Just have my certificate of competency to hand always) - Is this OK to do???? (my learner permit is still valid)

Also I was thinking of finally applying for the pink liscense - I wear glasses when driving as is noted on my learner permit - Do I have to get a new eye test now again when applying for my pink full liscense?

Technically speaking you are not fully licensed until you have a full license in your hands. So the letter of the law would say you need to have an accompanying dirver, and you must display L plates.

And also, the cert is only valid for 2 years. Failing to apply in that time will mean you have to sit and pass the test again.

Also, this would mean that your insurance policy should state that you are driving under a learner permit until you receive your pink license.

You don't have to get an eye test before getting the pink licence - or at least I didn't. But I applied for the pink licence straight away after passing the test, and I had done an eye test for the provisional licence just slightly over a year before that. But I think it is unlikely you would have to do an eye test. I'm sure they would let you know if they felt it necessary.

I'd apply for the licence as soon as possible as if it goes out of date you will have to sit the test again
