    Hi all,
I have a very easy question for the people here who know what is what. I've taken a photo of my parent's existing aerial set up for Irish and UK terrestrial analogue reception in south Cavan/north Meath.
Irish digital channels are received fine but so far no UK digital. I want to make sure the larger aerial which I believe was for the UK channels (smaller for Irish right?) is orientated towards Brouher Hill. At the moment its not receiving the "Freeview" signal but hopefully after October 10th with the increased signal it will.

In the pic I marked the ends A & B for clarity. Before I go moving the aerial I want to know which end should point toward the desired transmitter. Basically which is the front. Its a fundamental question but I can't figuire it :(

End B should point towards the transmitter.

Thanks CML, that means its already pointing to Brougher. I thought/hoped that it wasn't as it currently doesn't pick up Freeview. So I'm not going to move it now. Just rescan on the 10th with fingers crossed.

Brougher Mountain will switch off BBC2 analog at 6 a.m. on Oct 10th, the channel (UHF 28) will then be used for the initial set of Freeview digital channels so if your parents are currently getting BBC2 with decent picture and sound and you have the right equipment for Freeview, you will have no problem and you won't need to change the UK aerial, nor realign it.

You'll need to rescan on Oct 24th to pickup the remainder of the Freeview channels.

Note that if you have Freeview HD equipment, you will be able to pickup RTE1/2 and TG4 from Brougher Mountain but you should continue to pick these up from the RTE transmitter in Cairn Hill because that will give you TV3 and Brougher wil blank out certain RTE & TG4 programs where there are rights issues (e.g. sports events that can't be broadcast into NI) so ignore the Irish channels that come in from Brougher.
