Olympus mju 820 - USB, yet not quite USB

I got a gift (or rather mini-zag did) of an Olympus mju 820 from a friend. All went well until the battery ran out.

I tried connecting the camera to USB (assuming it would charge), but despite having a million USB cables, none of them fitted.

The flap on the side is marked "DC in 4.8v USB AV out" so I gather that some USB cable does indeed fit it.

Does anyone know whether there's some custom Olympus cable required, or am I just doing this wrong ? I put USB cables into things all day long at work, so I'm guessing I'm not doing it wrong, but I'm happy to be proven wrong.

I don't think you can charge the battery in this camera via USB. I think you need a dedicated charger.

Seems that it originally came with a battery charger. Something like the one pixbyjohn linked to will probably be cheaper than the Olympus original. USB charging isn't supported, but you can get an AC adapter.

The USB connection on the camera appears to be non-standard. Here's a cable
