Paramedic jobs in the UK?

Is there any work for Paramedics in England, Scotland, and Wales?
Im applying through the UCAS and noticed that there are quite a few 3 year paramedic science degrees and other related courses offered by universities all around the UK.

However, Im unsure if these would be worth my time if its similar to here in the UK when it comes to getting work with the ambulance service. I know the courses are tough and Im willing to put in the effort and time to training. I just dont want to do a 3 year degree only to get nothing out of it and end up with no job.

I know there are quite a few ambulance trusts around the UK but from what little genuine info I could find, it sounds a bit competitive.

Trust do hire pretty regularly. London Ambulance Service is looking for apprentice paras on a 5 year program as far as I know.

It's a better situation there economically. Scotland only spent £34m on a fleet of new ambulances so it give you an idea of the money floating around. Better standard of education in the 3yr degrees too.
